Increasingly employers are using online networks such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to advertise jobs and search for applicants. Although this makes it easier for you to find out about employers and available job opportunities, it also means that it’s easier for employers to find out about you.
Online networks such as LinkedIn can be utilised to make contacts, promote your skill set and effectively market yourself as a potential employee. Some employers are even starting to use LinkedIn profiles as surrogate CVs, so making sure it’s up-to-date can really work in your favour.
Being able to find a role that I really enjoy and that I can make a real contribution to, from all the possibilities out there, is extremely satisfying.
