ABPI Cymru Wales
ABPI Cymru Wales was established in 2003 in response to the evolving distinctiveness of the post-devolution health and economic agenda in Wales.
ABPI Cymru Wales and its members work collaboratively with Welsh Government, NHS Wales, Patient Organisations, the Welsh Parliament and other key stakeholders to help address the health needs of the people of Wales.
Wales Board Sponsored Group
We support the work of the ABPI Cymru Wales Board Sponsored Group (WBSG), a collaboration of ABPI members with a declared interest in Wales. WBSG currently has a membership of over thirty ABPI member companies, including both major global companies and smaller companies with a strong presence in Wales.
Our Wales Board Sponsored Group ensures that medicines promotion and collaborative working with the NHS are conducted in an open, responsible, and ethical way.
Life Sciences
Wales hosts 20% more life sciences businesses than the UK average, ranging from pioneering SMEs and start-ups to global blue-chip corporations. Combined, the sector employs over 11,000 people and contributes over £2 billion in turnover to the Welsh economy.
With our members, we work alongside healthcare professionals and patients under the strict governance arrangements of the ABPI Code of Practice.
